I became interested in Chiropractic care when a high school injury left me defeated and searching all corners of the medical field for an answer. Not only was I unable to run cross country and track, but my confidence in my body’s ability to heal was diminishing. It wasn’t until I found a Chiropractor that treated me using Active Release Techniques (ART) that I fully healed. The quick recovery and boost in confidence inspired me and I became determined to go down a path that would help others find solutions to complex injuries and medical issues.
After graduating from James Madison University and attending New York Chiropractic College, I worked for several years in a sports-focused rehabilitation practice. Through these experiences I learned about the powerful connection between the mind and body. Pain is felt in the brain (on so many levels) and it is nearly impossible to fix an injury without looking at the patient as a whole being. Lifestyle factors, stressors, sleep hygiene, nutrition and movement patterns are just a few aspects of a patient’s life to consider when trying to eliminate pain.
I also learned the importance of building a community of like-minded practitioners. I pride myself on knowing the best of the best to help you with whatever may be going on. I work with women each and every day to guide them on their journey to optimal health.
I have a particular passion for guiding new mothers into motherhood. The waters can be a bit murky, but having someone who has walked this path and is also immersed in healthcare can help you to feel supported and less alone on your journey. I am certified in Webster Technique as well as BirthFit and have extensive training and experience working with prenatal patients.
